What’s in it? Thresh Hold is the newest indoor climbing business to hit Southern California. With over 8,000 Sq Ft. of climbing, superb angles, creative slab sections, and incredible bouldering Thresh Hold not only hosts the best indoor bouldering in So Cal, but also the country’s highest free-standing mantling boulders, unique foam pit landing zones, lounge areas, yoga studio, and a full fitness center.
Standout feature? A wicked 20 foot “highball” boulder with Buttermilk style angles. This advanced feature was conjured up by co-owner Dale Partridge & Rockwerx CEO Cort Gariepy as a new extreme for the industry. It’s sure to create and attract the country’s strongest. Come get gripped on this “full mantle” masterpiece.
Any comps? We just opened last month but there is talk about hosting the “undecided” Five Ten California Cup Finals sometime early next year. You’ll also probably see us on this year’s ABS schedule.
Age Requirements? If you can walk you can climb.
Hours? Mon-Fri: 10 am to 11 pm Sat: 9 am to 9 pm Sunday: 12 pm to 7 pm
What’s so good about the gym? The 20 ft. highball Boulder! Everything is very clean & organized. Their staff is qualified and professional, and their setting staff has potential to be one of the best in California. Being able to hit a good exercise in the fitness center before a climb and then watch a film in the lounge after is also awesome.
When are the best sessions? Monday & Thursday nights. Mondays there are loads of people with a positive vibe, and yoga and climbing classes. Thursday is college night and usually brings in some of the strongest climbers (and good looking’ ladies...)
Any inside info we should know? They offer free wireless internet in the lounge and they are one of the only gyms in So Cal to have a full air conditioned facility.
Rate the gym from 1 to 10?
I have only been to 10 gyms and 9 of which are in southern California. Must say this is how a climbing gym should be. I give them a 10.
