Tim wanted to share some thoughts.
“Thanks to Paul for asking me to shoot him for this feature and to Joe for the opportunity to hook this up proper. There are two things I want people to know about the climbing pictures I took for this editorial feature:
1) Funky portraits aside, I don't use Photoshop to add or remove ANYTHING from the original picture. I feel that a professional should be held to highest standards, and when it comes to action photography altering an image is unethical.
2) I only submit images of people on routes or boulders that they have sent or are unclimbed projects. I've watched climbers risk their lives to top-out on highballs or work for months to complete an FA. To have images of someone posing on a route they have not completed, no matter the difficulty, does nothing to support first ascentionists, the general climbing community, or motivate others to share in the adventure of getting to the top –the tops of boulders, cliffs, and mountains.” – Timothy Kemple
