Mike von Wahlde can't send Vhard right now. He can't climb 5.13 onsight, and his trad rack is way too dusty. But at 6'4” and just under 200 lbs., he's the spot that will keep you from wetting yourself on that highball, the belayer to cushion your whipper, and the guy who got the photo of you sending the crux just before he caught you when you sketched off the top out. If he had spare time, he'd paint you several new paintings, develop some more photos, cook you dinner, write you a story and bring you to his favorite skate and surf spots, all on the way back from the crag he just showed you for the first time. Right now his main hobby is making a baby with his wife Jen, who is due on July 1. He writes and shoots for several publications and curates the gallery and designs skateboards and clothing for DayOne in Bridgeport, CT.
