Hera was more than just an ancient Greek goddess she was the ancient Greek goddess. She was strong, confident, and didn’t take any crap, even from her husband, Zeus. Our friends at HERA (herafoundation.org) named their non-profit org after this powerful character because of her strength and her role as a protector of women. The HERA (which also stands for Health, Empowerment, Research, and Awareness) Foundation likewise wishes to protect and empower women to take control of their health. HERA has been fighting ovarian cancer with their Climb4Life events for nearly a decade, raising ovarian cancer awareness and introducing hundreds of women and men to climbing. In that time, HERA has raised over a million dollars in support of HERA’s OSB1 scientific grant program and HERA’s community grant program. Through HERA Partners in Action, companies donate proceeds from the sale of certain HERA-branded gear here in the UC#34 Coin, three lucky winners will pick up a 10-item Partners in Action package.
