Vortex sits on Sassafras Knob in the Pisgah National Forest outside of Boone, NC. It was first discovered by Zach Lesch-Huie but was first climbed with the collaborative effects of Pat Goodman and Pat Stone. Vortex stands at an intimidating 17 feet tall and is given the grade of V10.
