Rock Fall at North Table Mountain, Golden, Colorado

Pat Adams of Boulder Colorado noticed on Saturday, May 16th 2009, that the top twenty feet of Elephantiasis (5.13), a popular route at the Quarry Wall, had fallen off recently taking two bolts and the anchor with it. Adams, who works at the University of Colorado, said in an email "I am glad no one was injured but there could be more to come. The upper left knob of rock (seen in the photo from MountainProject.com) is completely gone! I am guessing ten tons of cliff broke loose but it did produce some nice geodes for the Cub Scouts to collect."
North Table Mountain, which overlooks the town of Golden, Colorado and the Coors Brewery, is a popular basalt climbing area with a couple hundred sport and trad routes.
