After returning from the “Lucky #7” 2009 New River Rendezvous I had to prepare for my trip to Italy and Switzerland. The Rendezvous is a very special event for me. It marks the anniversary of my “sales rep-hood.” It was my very first event as a MAMMUT athlete/tech rep. Now, 5 years later I continue to serve as the Southeast primary independent sales rep for the brand.

The weather was much better than last year’s event, but don’t worry, you know it rained! Despite the rain I was able to get two days in on a rope and a lazy afternoon of bouldering. I was proud to also be representing two of my other brands at the event. Cam Brensinger founder of NEMO tents was down with our tent fleet revisiting his old stomping grounds. I also enjoyed hosting one half of my So iLL family — David and Jamie Chancellor. Daniel! You and Hannah will be there next year! ;-) Overall I can’t express how great the event is, and how much it means to me. Thanks to Kenny, Maura, all the volunteers, and the rest of the Waterstone gang for putting on one of the best events in the country! LONG LIVE THE NEW!!!!

I just returned from my MAMMUT Summer 2010 sales meeting that took place in Switzerland and Italy. Twice a year the MAMMUT team gathers to review NEXT years products. We are always working years and seasons ahead. It’s like traveling through time as I work with the USA team to review and build on products that will be sold the following year. Welcome back to the future!

Our winter sales meeting usually takes place in Seon, Switzerland where the MAMMUT headquarters is based. The summer meeting is usually a “destination meeting.” This year it was in Sessa, Switzerland, which is very close to the boarder of Italy. We flew into Milan Italy and via car, bus and train made the journey to Sessa. I’m sure most of you are not interested in the nuts and bolts of the trip consisting upon meeting after meeting reviewing and discussing gear. So I’ll do you a favor and skip right to some pictures from the trip. Till next time folks…

Stay up,
—Lee
