Lee Means - Pro Blog 12

Ok so I got my ass kicked in NC at Rumblin Bald back in October.

It was my first time there, and the weather wasn't the best, but no excuses because the place is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I'm psyched for the Carolina Climber’s Coalition for committing to purchase that 6-acre tract!!!  During my long weekend I also had a great time in Asheville, NC. Peeped the premier of Progression at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co., and then it was off to Table Rock and the first leg of Triple Crown. It's hard to believe that another T-Crown has come and gone; BIG UPS to Jim and Chad for standing the tests of time and raising money for the great causes they support!

It's crazy that another year has come and gone. 2009 has been a crazy time. The climbing world suffered losses of some great people. I personally witnessed some beginnings and endings, and endings that really were new beginnings. The whole Oh-9 year. Done.

I feel like my climbing is taking a back seat lately to more important things in my life. Or how about “other important things” have my attention at the moment. So how would it affect me mentally with my climbing? Sometimes we all have “high gravity days.” Where we feel we can’t climb strong enough. And then there are those days where you just float effortlessly up the rock. I find the balance between work and play is all good. 1) because I have fuggin badass job(s) 2) I live in the South……HAHAAAHHHHHHHHHNNNNN!!!!!! Sorry I just had a moment of reflection— T-Wall, RockTown… ‘nough said!

Life has its moments; I hope everyone is enjoying them!

I gotta give a big thanks to Sanuk and Metolius!!! For some fresh kicks, er I mean sandals. To the big Stinky Fish for helping a brother realize his dream retirement (aka it is my dream to one day retire from bouldering and to become a crusty beer bellied trad climber—fumbling with gear and reminiscing of more innocent days….we all have our goals ;-) ….Also big ups to Mammut and the rest of the supporters who made the SCC Steele purchase possible!!!!
