11/4/10 - “Hello Brooklyn, How ya doin? Where ya goin'? Can I come, too?” ~lil Wayne. Crazy happenings: Back in July, Jules and I bought round trip tickets to NY outta Chattanooga. Getting to fly outta Chatt as opposed to going down to ATL or over to Na$hville is a treat. Especially when the tickets are roundtrip for 180 bones! When I was intubated in the hospital, I pinky-promised Jules that I wouldn't die, and that we'd go on our trip to NYC.

9/9/10 - Wow, so it’s been a long time. Some of you have asked why I haven’t posted a blog in a while, and I have to say hearing this is very flattering. In the beginning, I thought, “No one is going to want to read this crap. I’m just a rock climbing sales rep. Who cares?” Well, apparently, quite a few of you do, so this particular blog is dedicated to you. Thank you.

1/05/10 - Ok so I got my ass kicked in NC at Rumblin Bald back in October. It was my first time there, and the weather wasn't the best, but no excuses because the place is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I'm psyched for the Carolina Climber’s Coalition for committing to purchase that 6-acre tract!!! During my long weekend I also had a great time in Asheville, NC. Peeped the premier of Progression at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co., and then it was off to Table Rock and the first leg of Triple Crown.

10/01/09 - Sickle Climbing and Lee Means want to hook you up! - That’s right boys and girls. My long time sponsor and I have teamed up to give back to the climbing community. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for rock climbing and folks like you. Sickle has been making killer climbing threads for over a decade, and I recently celebrated my own decade of climbing.

9/08/09 - Summer 09 was a great time. Autumn has arrived and soon it will be Fall. Soon it will be time for velcro friction on my sweet Southern Sandstone! As I reflect back on the 95 degree 85 percent humidity days of this summer I’m smiling because in between work I got to spend many a day splashing around in my local rivers, creeks, and lakes. The Deep Water Soloing and River Bouldering sessions were amazing. (to be continued)

7/28/09 - I was sittin' in the Atlanta airport bummed that I was sittin' there in a gate in a concourse that was not the one written on my boarding pass. Can’t Atlanta show a little love to the Chattanooga airport? But I looked up, and saw a familiar face. A stout black man with a full beard, shaved head, and enough bling & 5 man entourage to be unmistakably no other than The Boss Ricky Ross… I guess everybody is a “fanboy” from time to time.

6/17/09 - After returning from the “Lucky #7” 2009 New River Rendezvous I had to prepare for my trip to Italy and Switzerland. The Rendezvous is a very special event for me. It marks the anniversary of my “sales rep-hood.” It was my very first event as a MAMMUT athlete/tech rep. Now, 5 years later I continue to serve as the Southeast primary independent sales rep for the brand.

4/27/09 - I got a call at the beginning of February from my good buddy Andy Salo telling me that he and THE Paul Jung were psyched to come down for the Chalky Dreams Bouldering Competition, which I host at Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover, AL. Salo asked if he could bring his friend Tomás Donoso down to stay at the house and take some photos during the comp.

1/06/09 - Wow! So here it is! It’s a New Year! What a year 2008 was. I celebrated my birthday December 31st. Marking this my tenth year of trying to rock climb. Its humbling to think that a decade ago I bought myself a chalk bag, slipped on my New Balance running shoes (with the tread worn off the bottoms), and started scampering up chossy cracks and 5.6 climbs too high off the deck for me to know any better.

11/24/08 - Howdy folks! I’ve been incredibly busy with work and life in general. I’ve been in my new home for 2 month now. Moving is a hectic thing, and not fun. But it’s been exciting as this is my first new home. I say “new” but it is really a 108-year-old cottage located here in Chattanooga, TN.

8/22/08 - Since my last UCblog I’ve attended a successful SCC Board Meeting, pink pointed a route I’ve been obsessed with (still working on the true lead), explored backwoodz of the South looking for new rock, enjoyed the sickest limestone Deep Water Soloin’, put up some more FAs, met one of my favorite hip hop artistKiller Mike!, and caught up with old friends at the S08 OR show in Salt Lake City…Life’s been pretty “Sickle” to say the least.

6/20/08 - So I just got back from Switzerland. I was there for the MAMMUT global sales meeting. I’m the Southeastern Sales Representative for MAMMUT North America. I’m very blessed to have such a job. I work with a leader in climbing equipment. I’m honored to be a part of such a great company full of innovation and rich in history (MAMMUT is the oldest climbing rope manufacturer in the world!)

6/10/08 - If you haven’t been to the New River Rendezvous yet, then you are missing out. Honestly I’m not just out here trying to pitch it to you and make you drink the kool-aid. The Rendezvous is arguably one of, if not THE best climbing events in the country. I just got back from the 6th annual New River Rendezvous. And yes, it rained.

4/16/08 - When I was first asked to be a part of Urban Climber’s Pro Blog Team I was very apprehensive. My Dad always told me “Son, sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you’re an idiot, then to open it and remove all doubt.” Besides, what the hell is a blog? And why would people want to read what I have to say about anything anyways?
