3/23/10 - The Torre 33 is my favorite in the entire Gregory Pack Collection. I have a lot of pride in the LTS Fusion Series as I aided in the design of these fine packs. They gave me a prototype for my recent trip to Europe. What better way to test the product than to put it on a traveling climber in Europe?! We had beauty all around us from the Mediterranean Ocean to the Pyrenees Mountains. With two solid months climbing in the Gorges around Nice, I was able to complete some of the most difficult, greatest, and proudest routes I have ever climbed.

2/10/10 - Daniel Woods Loves the Solution - This content was shot in the Gorges Du Loup, which is in the South of France. It is a great summer spot with the beach near, a beautiful gorge, and some test-pieces that kept us busy for a month and a half. Daniel impressed all of us, including the locals with his fanaticism and efforts he put in each day. He would try one 9a and immediately after run over to jump on an 8c+, and then 20 minutes after that he would attempt to onsight an 8b!

10/21/08 - Well it has been a dream of mine for some time to climb what most people consider the best climb in the world, The Nose of El Cap in Yosemite, CA. We arrived in Yosemite on the 6th of September and it was an amazing site as usual! We started training the next day on several single pitch routes on El Cap that are recommended before attempting The Nose. These climbs are supposed to help you get ready for the aid climbing you will encounter on The Nose.

7/16/08 - So in my first blog, I mentioned a climb I have been wanting to do for a long time and now it looks like I will attempt it in about 40 days. Myself and friend Brian Shelton will be training to climb The Nose of El Cap in Yosemite sometime in September. Not trying to set any speed records, I really want the full experience (like waking up on the portaledge 2,000 ft up and making a cup of coffee in the morning)

8/11/08 - Basalted. It's been a little difficult to get out climbing lately. Firstly, the summer's swelter always puts a little stutter in my step. I usually go back and forth deciding whether I want to go grease off my projects, go to the beach and surf waist high sets, maybe bomb a few hills on my Crooked, or hang out at home, paint stuff, drink beers, and make fish tacos. Secondly, my wife and I are nurturing and thoroughly enjoying our now 6-month-old son, Hudson.

5/14/08 - Welcome to my blog. Exciting isn’t it? I once clogged the toilet in a posh nouveaux bistro, and this feels quite similar. Uncomfortable. Yet strangely amusing. I mean, look, I plan on spilling my guts to you guys. I have a lot to say and the magazine can’t handle all of it. So, here’s my other outlet. I guess it’s like that rest-aurant experience in another way, too. I would have to plunge and clean up any mess for the mag, but for here, for this blog, I think it’d be fun to just let loose and walk away without too much worry about what I’ve left behind! Man, I’m a little sick sometimes.

1/05/10 - Ok so I got my ass kicked in NC at Rumblin Bald back in October. It was my first time there, and the weather wasn't the best, but no excuses because the place is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I'm psyched for the Carolina Climber’s Coalition for committing to purchase that 6-acre tract!!! During my long weekend I also had a great time in Asheville, NC. Peeped the premier of Progression at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co., and then it was off to Table Rock and the first leg of Triple Crown.

10/01/09 - Sickle Climbing and Lee Means want to hook you up! - That’s right boys and girls. My long time sponsor and I have teamed up to give back to the climbing community. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for rock climbing and folks like you. Sickle has been making killer climbing threads for over a decade, and I recently celebrated my own decade of climbing.

9/08/09 - Summer 09 was a great time. Autumn has arrived and soon it will be Fall. Soon it will be time for velcro friction on my sweet Southern Sandstone! As I reflect back on the 95 degree 85 percent humidity days of this summer I’m smiling because in between work I got to spend many a day splashing around in my local rivers, creeks, and lakes. The Deep Water Soloing and River Bouldering sessions were amazing. (to be continued)

7/28/09 - I was sittin' in the Atlanta airport bummed that I was sittin' there in a gate in a concourse that was not the one written on my boarding pass. Can’t Atlanta show a little love to the Chattanooga airport? But I looked up, and saw a familiar face. A stout black man with a full beard, shaved head, and enough bling & 5 man entourage to be unmistakably no other than The Boss Ricky Ross… I guess everybody is a “fanboy” from time to time.

6/17/09 - After returning from the “Lucky #7” 2009 New River Rendezvous I had to prepare for my trip to Italy and Switzerland. The Rendezvous is a very special event for me. It marks the anniversary of my “sales rep-hood.” It was my very first event as a MAMMUT athlete/tech rep. Now, 5 years later I continue to serve as the Southeast primary independent sales rep for the brand.

4/27/09 - I got a call at the beginning of February from my good buddy Andy Salo telling me that he and THE Paul Jung were psyched to come down for the Chalky Dreams Bouldering Competition, which I host at Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover, AL. Salo asked if he could bring his friend Tomás Donoso down to stay at the house and take some photos during the comp.
