CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES
The climbing community drives the words, images, and feel of URBAN CLIMBER MAGAZINE. If you’ve got something to say or share, give it a shot. It’s your magazine. The following information is designed to assist freelancers who wish to write queries or submit articles, photographs and/or illustrations for publication in URBAN CLIMBER MAGAZINE.

PROVING GROUND (product review)

FINISH HOLD (closing department)
Approximately 600-1000 words and can be accompanied with photos. Non-paying department. The published reader wins a prize supplied by one of our advertisers.
FEATURES
Features run 1500-3000 words and are often (but not always) photo driven. URBAN CLIMBER MAGAZINE publishes a number of features in each issue. We want to expand our coverage of new climbers and climbing areas that might be of interest to our readers, so we are always looking for Feature ideas. We also interested in cultural and lifestyle issues of relevance to our audience. We are happy to welcome new contributors, so if you have Feature story ideas, please feel free to drop us a note, preferably by email, to joe@urbanclimbermag.com
PHOTO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Images will be considered for both the Magazine, website, and Thursday Session email. We require all photo submission to be digital images. Submit photos via compact disk. On the disk, include hi-res files (300 dpi), as well as low-res JPEGs for easy viewing and a text file with caption information. Also include a thumbnail printout of the enclosed images. Send to: URBAN CLIMBER MAGAZINE, Attn. Joe Iurato, 180 Varick St. #1514, NY, NY 10014. Materials will not be returned unless you include a stamped self-addressed envelope. You can also provide samples of your work via low-res images sent via email to joe@urbanclimbermag.com. You can also direct us to online galleries containing images for consideration. Do not send original slides or film. Please do not send originals or anything that you can't afford to lose.
UCTV VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Video Format Requirements:
- QuickTime (PREFERRED)
- Windows Media Player
- We will not present videos that require a DivX plugin.
File Size Recommendations:
- We recommend videos be no greater than 5 minutes in length
- ~4mb / minute
- Less than 20mb total
- 320px by 240px (PREFERRED)
