Traversi, Robinson Pull Off Memory is Parallax (V14)
2/6/12 - Carlo Traversi and Paul Robinson have made the fourth and fifth ascents of the new Colorado problem, Memory is Parallax (V14). 2/6/12 - Finnish climber Nalle Hukkataival has made the first ascent of a problem he calls V14 in the Marlanval sector of Fontainebleau, France. 2/3/12 - Alex Honnold, Will Stanhope, and Paul McSorley traveled to the remote desert of Baja California in late January and came away with two remarkable free climbs. 2/2/12 - Austrian climber David Lama recently free climbed the southeast ridge of Cerro Torre (aka the Compressor Route) in Patagonia shortly after Jason Kruk and Hayden Kennedy's ascent—after the pair chopped more than 100 of Cesare Maestri's bolts from the headwall. 2/1/12 - Australian Chris Webb Parsons has repeated Hueco Tanks' Desperanza (V15). 1/30/12 - Canadian Sean McColl has made a one-day ascent of the Fontainebleau V14 Kheops Assis in the Cuvier Rempart sector. 1/26/12 - Hayden Kennedy and Jason Kruk recently completed a "fair means" ascent of the southeast ridge of Cerro Torre (aka the Compressor Route); the pair climbed without using any of Cesare Maestri's controversial bolts. 1/25/12 - German climber Sarah Seeger has climbed her first V12 with Kalte Sophie, in the Frankenjura. 1/25/12 - British climber Tom Bolger recently redpointed Fabela pa la enmienda (5.14d) in the cave at Santa Linya, Spain, ticking his fifth route of the grade. 1/24/12 - Alizée Dufraisse from France has made the first female ascent of La Reina Mora (5.14c/d) in Siurana, Spain, her first of the grade. 1/24/12 - Cerro Torre in Patagonia has been the scene of several dramatic developments in recent days. 1/17/12 - Hayden Kennedy (U.S.) and Jason Kruk (CAN) have completed a "fair means" ascent of Cerro Torre's southeast side, according to a Facebook post by Colin Haley, who watched some of their climb through a telephoto lens. 1/16/12 - Young French climber Enzo Oddo has redpointed La Rambla (5.15a) in Siurana, Spain. 1/12/11 - Paul Robinson has made the first ascent of one of his hardest problems ever: Meadowlark Lemon in Gateway Canyon, Nevada, in Red Rock Canyon. 1/11/12 - Spanish climber Iker Pou has made the first ascent of Nit de bruixes, at the l'Ermitage sector at Margalef, Spain, for which he's proposing 5.15a. |
