Planet Granite climbing gym to become largest in country

By Stephanie Ko of Planet Granite

3/8/10 — This spring, Planet Granite in Sunnyvale, California, already home to over 25,000 square feet of climbing with 60 foot high walls, is building a brand new indoor/outdoor bouldering area, making it this country’s largest climbing gym. The new terrain, built by Planet Granite’s in-house climbing wall company that is responsible for the design, architecture, engineering and construction, will be located inside a permanent tent with translucent glass roll-up doors. This indoor area with an outdoor feel will be bigger, better and more badass, boasting a 45-60 degree steep wave-like bulge, an adjustable system board, and state of the art fully padded floors, so no crash pads needed! To top it off, there will be a dedicated long slack-line, perfect for a mid-session break.
