Asolo & Gore invest in Retail Sales Training

By Jason Stadler / asolo.com and gore.com

With the tough economic period that we are in, Asolo and W.L. Gore have stepped forward to co-fund a series of training seminars held by Henry C. Barber. Both companies felt it was important to introduce a different style of training and provide another level of value and support to retail stores. The purpose of this seminar is to train key staff in selling and service communication strategies. We use models developed by Henry that are well founded in selling communication used worldwide.

The emphasis on this training is about 70% effective communication strategies and 30% Asolo and Gore-Tex® branding and product details. A similar effort was launched with initial support from Asolo when Phil Oren fit clinics were introduced in the late 1980’s. Phil’s multi day clinics elevated the service that outdoor retailers provided the consumer throughout the US and Europe.

Henry Barber had a 23+ year career with Patagonia and eventually became the director of the North American wholesale division. He is a world renowned climber having climbed in over 30 countries and establishing first ascents in over half of them. Aside from his work with Patagonia he has done consulting and training with several companies in the outdoor industry as well as specialty retailers throughout the US.
