The Northwest Collegiate Climbing Competition Series

NC³ Challenges Students to Reach New Heights

The Northwest Collegiate Climbing Competition Series (NC³) has pioneered intercollegiate climbing, while demonstrating an increase in participation and recognition each year. This year’s events will be the largest to date with an estimated 1500 participants and spectators from around the northwest. The series allows college students to experience multiple levels of competitive sport while fostering growth in the climbing community.

The NC³ events will be held across the region from January through May 2010 at the following prominent institutions:

• University of Washington May 8^th

The series fosters individual competition and promotes teamwork as participants have the opportunity to accrue points for themselves and as a representative of their school. Students must participate in at least three events throughout the season to qualify for the series with bonus points given to those who participate in more competitions. Each competition is sponsored at the local level and national sponsors support the overall series. Current national sponsors include: Prana, ExOfficio, Petzl, Mountain Safety Research, Element Climbing, Mountain Khakis, Eldorado Climbing Walls, and Cascade Cobbler. At the conclusion of the series, individual Men’s and Women’s winners are awarded prizes and the winning university is announced and presented with a trophy.
