 Five College Outdoor Festival
The Five College Outdoor Festival is a celebration of outdoor sports, wild places, and the spirit of adventure. Our goal is to inspire the Five College and western Massachusetts community to engage in human-powered outdoor recreation on February 27th and 28th, 2009.  The California Premiere of Pure
On February 26th, 2009, at 7:15pm at the Rialto Theatre in Santa Rosa, featured athlete Kevin Jorgeson will be hosting the CA Premiere of Chuck Fryberger's new bouldering flick. The problems were creative and the athletes moved like monkeys at this years American Bouldering Series National Championships on February 13-15, 2009 at The Spot Bouldering Gym in Boulder, Colorado. In its 10th season, ABS routesetting is definitely world-class. In fact, finalist Max Zolotukhin called the four men's and four women's lines "the best problems in a comp ever." On Sunday, February 22nd, 2009, in Rochester, MN, The Minnesota Climbers Association (MCA) presents the 2009 Best of the Midwest Bouldering Challenge (BoMBC) hosted by Prairie Walls Bouldering Gym. The BoMBC is an ABS format competition with over 100 routes on Prairie Walls’ state of the art textured boulders, some of which are free-standing. Amidst a soggy evening snowstorm on Sunday, January 25, just outside Salt Lake City, the Momentum climbing gym bustled with energy — a crowd of hundreds gathered to witness America's top climbers vie for the 2009 SCS Adult National Championship (scsnationals.org). Outside of Momentum's thick walls, the echo of cheers and applause faded into the night, while inside, Carlo Traversi and Emily Harrington bested the competition to clinch first place finishes. On November 18, 2008, in Salt Lake City, Utah, college students — with focus and determination — from across the state competed for the title of “best boulderer” at Westminster College’s first-ever climbing wall competition. Tye Watkins and Lizzie Nielson, both students at the University of Utah, took first place honors in the men’s and women’s divisions beating out more than 30 other students.
