Join blind climber Erik Weihenmayer to hear about his adventures in the vertical world, including his most recent ascent of The Naked Edge, a classic, highly technical climb in Eldorado Canyon State Park, CO. This incredible climb was captured on video, Blind and Naked, to support the Access Fund, the national non-profit advocacy organization that keeps climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment.  Urban Rocks Gym Hosts Chattanooga’s First Indoor Sport Climbing Competition
On Saturday, March 27th, approximately two hundred people arrived bright and early to get checked in and ready for Chattanooga’s first indoor sport climbing competition. By 10 a.m. Saturday morning, Urban Rocks Gym filled with activity of at least six different climbing teams. The 5th Annual HERA Climb4Life Metro DC, an ovarian cancer fundraiser benefiting the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation, is planned for March 13–21, 2010 at several sites in the Washington DC area. AscenDance Project is a new company founded in January of 2006 by German born performance artist and rock climber Isabel von Rittberg to create work that explores the aesthetics of climbing. Performing entirely without the use of ropes, their work exhibits strength and grace enhanced by the effects of gravity on the dancers and their ability to overcome it. The 3rd Annual Chandler Mountain Challenge, a bouldering competition for all abilities at Horse Pens 40, AL, will be presented by Solid Rock – Climbers for Christ on Saturday, February 6th, 2010. The first ever European Ice Climbing Youth Championship has been concluded in Saas Grund, Switzerland on January 16th, 2010. The men's overall winner was Russia's Alexey Iakovlev. Last year’s overall winner, Austria’s Markus Bendler, has proven he is still the man to beat on the Ice Climbing World Cup circuit. Bendler took first place in the challenging Lead competition this weekend (January 7- 9, 2010) in Kirov, Russia. For the women, Italy’s Angelika Rainer came first, letting the world know she is ready to challenge for the overall top spot, after finishing second in 2009.  ICE Climbing Ecrins 2010
